Shower block is very old and hasn't been cleaned in ages but there is hot water in the showers with toilets and laundry sink. Heaps of power boxes with working power points and running water are scattered throughout the whole showgrounds.

The use of this facility is currently being debated by the Johnston Shire Council. I was asked not to camp there after a few days.

Night time brings a steady stream of mozzies and be aware that crocs inhabit the nearby creek to the south. I did see a snake near the golf course fence.

To drive to the site, go through the horse stable gate and be sure to shut it after you. Then cross the racetrack and vere left to the toilet block. There are more powered sites and a second toilet block if you keep going straight towards the centre of the track. Access to cross the track is aparently closed between 530am to 830am for horse training.

Best not to drink the water from the campsite part of the showgrounds as lots of solid particals settled out of a sample, get drinking water from the taps on the steel pavilion columns near the main road where power and clean toilets are available too.

This site is huge and could accommodate hundreds of people so should always have space.
